Assisting the industry in the implementation of quality control work programmes and ensuring the quality of coconut products manufactured and exported from Sri Lanka. To accomplish this responsibility, the Authority maintains a Central Quality Control Laboratory (CQCL) with trained staff to carry out analysis on all major coconut products. Testing of samples are carried out throughout the week while processing of samples preparatory to testing take place.

Charges for the Testing

The Department of Inland Revenue has authorized the CDA to Collect Value Added Tax (VAT) with effect from 1st of January 2009, according to the VAT Registration No. 409046592-7000 & NBT w.e.f. 01/06/2009.

• Laboratory tests are carried out according to specifications and test methods issued by Sri Lanka Standards Institution.

• Ensure maintenance of quality standards in manufacture for export of coconut products

  • Provision of technical service to DC industry, factory visits, Investigation and resources contribution.
• Implement quality control work programme for coconut oil industry.
• Provide Training programmes on laboratory testing for laboratory technicians supervisors of coconut related industry.
• Provide laboratory testing facilities to identify adulterated coconut oil.
• Provide research assistance for university students for projects related to coconut industry.
• Provide testing facilities with 15% discounted rate for manufactures, exporters related to coconut products.
• Provide testing services to consumers, sellers, buyers as a testing laboratory.

15% discount will be granted for registered manufacturers and exporters of coconut based products.
